Progress Lodge is committed to enhancing the quality of life for people whose behaviour is considered challenging by the wider society. We support our residents to develop a range of life skills by encouraging them to actively participate in the home and its structured programme of activities. Each resident is encouraged to participate as fully as possible to identify their needs and design their own care plans.

We aim to enable our residents to:

  • Live self-sufficiently within a community
  • Achieve security and stability
  • Attain confidence and self-esteem

To achieve this, we have created safe and comfortable homes where each resident works with a keyworker who helps them learn living skills as part of the daily activities such as:

  • Budgeting money
  • Shopping
  • Cooking
  • Good personal hygiene
  • Opportunities to voice their opinions and make individual choices.

We encourage residents to engage in their wider community by ensuring that our homes are family friendly. Residents can invite their families and friends over for Sunday lunch for instance, and we actively support our residents’ participation in group outings and holidays. We also hold Art Expression Groups to enable our residents to develop their interests in self-expression such as photography.

We are in the process of launching a charitable trust to help fund art expression activities, training, education and employment for our client group.
